This year came with a lot of challenges for all of us. We had to learn to walk around with masks, stay home, work from home, and adapt to the new ways of life. For some, quarantine was a time to catch up on chores, get stuff done, while for others it was a process that led to new hobbies. Since things are going up in the air again and another quarantine is just around the corner, it’s time to prepare. Here is a list of new hobbies to try during quarantine that will make the time pass by fast.
Quarantine Hobbies to Try
During the lockdown, we were unable to go to our favorite malls and shop around. Instead, we were home looking at our clothes and how we can spruce them up. This led to a new hobby trend, tie-dye shirts. If tie-dye is not for you, here are some other great options:
Soap Making – Soap is essential in order to wash your hands and keep them clean from COVID-19. You can get soap base and a variety of molds and create soap for everyone on your list. Personalize the soap by using molds, colors and scents the person loves.
Knitting – ‘Tis the season for colder weather and cozier sweaters. Since you’ll be home more, you can learn to knit. You can make scarves, hates or even gloves, and gift them during the holidays. Knitting is a great way to utilize your hands, relax and learn a new skill.
Jewelry Making – Another fun new hobby to try this season is jewelry making or beading. You can make everything from necklaces and earring to unique rings and ankle bracelets.
Woodworking – If you’re looking for a more challenging hobby, try woodworking. You will need a carving tools and unfinished wood to start. For a cooler look to your piece you can try wood burning. Make sure to wear your safety equipment if you’re working with burning tools.
These are just a few of the many new hobbies to try this quarantine. Whatever your interest is, you’ll easily find a great new hobby for you that will occupy you during lock down. You don’t have to be in quarantine to enjoy or try these new hobbies.
